Connection to Daggett link enables line to Riverside
Los Angeles June 19 General Manager A G Wells of the Santa Fe will depart East tomorrow carrying final papers for the San Pedro Los Angeles and Salt Lake railroad to acquire trackage rights over the Santa Fe from Daggett to Colton. The lease term is undisclosed but long. Salt Lake's Los Angeles to Riverside line will connect through Daggett, with construction toward Daggett to begin about July 1.

Saloon Keeper Shot Over Dice Game in Atchison
Atchison Kansas on June 19 Nick Beirch a 40 year old German saloon proprietor on Eighth Street was shot and killed by Theodore Mc Kim. Mc Kim was mortally wounded later in an exchange of shots with responding officers. In the hospital Mc Kim admitted the killing and said the men fought over a dice game.
