John C. Dryscoll former secretary of the Coal Team Owners Association arrives in Chicago on the sixty fifth day of the Chicago strike. He denies knowledge of labor graft stories linked to Young and Shea and says he will testify before the grand jury after meeting with the states attorney. He plans to appear Monday at Healy’s office.
Washington June 10 From an authoritative official source it is learned today that it has been practically determined that the plenipotentiaries of Japan and Russia for the determination of peace terms would hold their sessions in Washington.
George Flournoy, the city attorney, is able to be out on the street again after an illness of a few days.
London June 10 diplomats report Roosevelt aims to start direct talks between Japan and Russia. Britain backs the effort while not participating. Japan seeks indemnity and territory settlement with Manchuria and Korea terms. Indemnity estimates range from 600 million to 1 billion dollars. Plenipotentiaries to meet in Washington.
