Bakersfield Fourth of July fireworks and flags planned
The Fourth of July executive committee arranged a grand pyrotechnic display using ten mammoth set pieces depicting Liberty Kern county and Washington along with numerous smaller fireworks. Ground opposite the courthouse on Chester Avenue will host the show, with Newton Fireworks Company supplying the pieces at a discounted total of 461.07 dollars. Flags costing 125 dollars were ordered for street decoration.

Chinese Fined for Cruelty to Animal and Other Offenses
