Fire Wipes Out Block At Minters Fruit Store Corner
At 11 30 this forenoon a jet of white smoke issued from Minters Fruit Store at 19th and K streets in the Fish block. In minutes the entire block of wooden structures was a mass of flames. The blaze spread so hot passage was blocked on both streets. City firemen under Chief Willow prevented spread to Hirshfeld and Niederaar brick blocks. The fire was under control after the blaze burned toward the blacksmith shop on L street. Continued on Page Eight.

Supervisor Bottoms Dies Sudden at Poso Ranch
Supervisor W. T. Bottoms died suddenly this afternoon at the W. N. Bonham ranch near Poso after dining there. A lifelong county pioneer and former Confederate serviceman, he would have begun an eighth year on the board of supervisors on January 1. He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Kate Bardon of the local high school and a younger daughter in San Francisco.
