Tragic Drowning on Hannibal Sunday School Excursion
In Hannibal Missouri a steamer Migtag Eagle towing a barge of Sun day school children struck the Hannibal bridge pier. About 250 children from Pack Methodist church were aboard. Three fifteen year olds died when the barge swung free and carried them into the river. Rescue boats quickly reached the barge and all other passengers were saved.
