Great Strike of C B W C on 160 acres and 4 rigs

The Clark Bryan and Wilson company made a major strike on 3 12 24 in the area, with a prolific oil bearing stratum just beneath 120 feet of clay. The initial sand rose and filled the bore to 300 feet burying tools, oil within sixty feet of the surface. The firm holds 160 acres with leases on portions of 31 and 32 in township 32 24, sub leased to good advantage, four rigs active and a fifth planned.

Sunset District Railroad to Be Begun Next Year

Sunset oil fields will soon be connected by rail with the outside world. Negotiations between the Sunset Railroad company and operators Southern Pacific and Santa Fe progress favorably and should close early in the new year enabling construction to start. Delays have centered on arranging traffic agreements, not on the road’s ultimate plans.
