Board votes to build new State Normal School in San Diego
San Diego State Normal officials met at the Capitol to push a new campus building funded by a $50,000 appropriation. Governor Budd will appoint San Diego residents to the board. The group accepted the University Heights tract and outlined a $35,000 primary building with a $15,000 contingency fund for salaries supplies and other needs. W. R. Guy was elected Board President and J. J. Dryden became Secretary.

Man sues deputies over Mojave arrest and extortion claim
Victor Rey filed a Superior Court complaint alleging a con stable and bondsmen abused him in Mojave. He was jailed, stripped of $40, released only after delivering $20 back to a bogus justice, and now seeks the return of $20 plus $1,000 damages. Attorney A. J. Bledsoe represents him.

Flag Raised At Bakersfield School In Holiday Ceremony
A flag donated by the trustees was raised at Bakersfield School this afternoon. Principal D W Nelson read the presentation letter at 2 30. W C Moss and Rev Libby spoke. Pupils sang America and saluted the flag. Students marched in perfect order then rooms held holiday exercises before dismissal at 3 o'clock.
