After a four day trial the jury found Indian defendant Fernando guilty of murder in the second degree for fatally slashing an unprovoked victim named Logan. The defense argued the prosecution failed to identify bloody clothing worn by Fernando at arrest, yet District Attorney Ahern pressed a strong case to avoid further trouble among South Fork Indians. Fernando awaits sentencing.
