A man using the name of Dinkelspiel Brothers of Bakersfield tried a bold swindle in San Francisco. Posing as M. Greenwaldt’s agent, S Bernstein obtained four watches from Henry Wolff on Sutter Street by presenting a false card. Wolff alerted L M Dinkelspiel, Bernstein was later arrested and will face court for obtaining goods under false pretenses.
Dispatches report a man matching Antone Reyes’s description in custody in Ventura and Frespo, with alternate name Vecente Lopez. Authorities plan to send an officer for verification as part of a murder investigation tied to J. Marcial, while other local incidents include burglaries, a disturbance case, and arrests of hobos.
