Jim McKinney, pursued by officers from Fresno, Tulare and the local county, was spotted in the Radamacher district about twelve miles from Randsburg last Saturday. He is identified and authorities believe he has surrounded himself in open country with help from his brother Ed and other friends.
From Panama August 19 serious international complications loom as Colombia amasses 2000 troops at Buena Ventura. The British steamer Ecuador, owned by Pacific Steam Navigation, was asked to transport reinforcements but its agents refused. The matter went to the British Consul and Ecuador was sent to Buena Ventura to safeguard British interests.
In LANSEN Pennsylvania on August 19 trains carrying General Gobin and staff arrived as strikers feared an outbreak after the shooting of leader Sharp. Authorities feared violence, but no demonstration occurred. In Scranton two non union workers, Michael Connelly and Forest Crossman, were ambushed. Crossman was wounded in the leg and Connelly in the shoulder.

R H Gorcon, jailed in Folsom for 45 years for highway robbery, nearly escaped yesterday. He was missed at lighting time, then found after hours of search hiding on the prison grounds.

The Hague August 19 a public reception welcomed Boer generals arriving from Sterdam General Byter delivered a speech paying tribute to their heroic deeds in a ceremony marking their arrival in the city
General Botha expressed appreciation for the warm reception given to Boer officers and noted Dutch generosity in supporting their families during the war. In New York on August 19 Mrs Eleanor Wallack wife of Lester Wallack grandson of the famed actor committed suicide by inhaling illuminating gas at her home once in Philadelphia. Mr Wallack said he knew of no reason she would want to take her own life.

A new board will be appointed before session end. A proposed change forcing members to be tried only in their own subordinate lodges was defeated 69 to 48.
