In Lexington Missouri a masked mob seized Chas Salyers and Harry Gates from the county jail at about 1 30 in the morning and hanged them from a tree. They were accused of killing George W Johnson a wealthy farmer who surprised them at his hen house last week. The mob, armed and masked, broke in, removed the prisoners and departed by 2 am after an hour’s work.
