Enon Snyder, 27, of Hilltown, was killed when a Reading railroad southbox and express struck his truck on a private crossing near Snydersville. The express was two hours late, sped through Hatfield, and dragged nearly a mile before stopping.

Greensburg Pennsylvania February 25 John Goswick aged forty two died in Westmoreland hospital from gunshot wounds inflicted by his son Jesse Goswick at the latter's Armbrust home. The shooting followed an alleged attack on the wife with Jesse interposing. The son is out on bail.

Milford Pa February 20 1917 Gifford Pinchot writes to President The White House urging immediate national action to boost U S food production for the Allies and home front. He cites farm labor shortages seed supplies and low crop reserves while urging leadership to raise wheat pork and overall output to sustain Britain France and Italy during the war.
New York Feb 25 Policeman John Briedenback of the Bergen Avenue station extinguished a fuse and saved about fifty people when a bomb was placed at the entrance of a Brooklyn clinic. The incident prompted police action and a rapid evacuation of nearby pedestrians.
