Airplane Strikes Tree Killing One and Injuring Two
An aeroplane travelling from Centralia to Portland struck a tree near Kalama Washington and wrecked. Passenger Leah Scace of Centralia was killed, fellow passenger Guy D. Cooper of Centralia suffered a broken leg, pilot F J Barnes of Lakeview Oregon was severely injured. Barnes said fog caused loss of bearings after flying low on the approach.

Tourists Die in Niagara Cave Bridge Collapse

Aerial Patrol Planned for British Columbia Fisheries

Nine teens arrested in plot to wreck Diamond Flyer
Springfield Illinois, Sept 7. Nine teen foreigners said to be Communist Party members were arrested on charges of a cold blooded plot to murder passengers of the Diamond Flyer by throwing the Illinois Central train into a ravine. Police and railroad agents said the plan would have torn track for 300 feet so the train would plunge into a fifty foot ravine near the city. Any survivors would have been shot.
