London October 15 The Irish conference was adjourned until Monday. Sinn Fein delegates attributed the delay to English men’s weekend habits. Desmond Fitzgerald Sinn Fein Minister of Propaganda said there was no hitch and that negotiations were expected to continue.
In Council Bluffs Iowa four miles north of the city a gun battle left two men dead and one fatally wounded as officers and a gang of suspected thieves and bootleggers clashed at a small house. Special Officer Murray of the Northwestern Railroad and Policeman Elmer Lane were among the dead. A posse and officers cornered the gang, who opened fire as they entered. Four gang members escaped, two were wounded, and later surrendered in the woods.
SPOKANE Washington October 15 Harry M Payne pled guilty to rifling a mail pouch at Toppenish on May 10 and was sentenced this forenoon by Judge Rudkin to 15 years at McNeil Island.

The couple had been living in Der sider La until the time of Bennetts alleged desertion of his family.
In Tampa on October 15 a warranty deed records the transfer of a three months old son of Mrs. Nettie Davis to Mrs. Norma Wilson. Officials say the deed likely illegal as it deprives the child of heritage rights and treats the infant as chattel and estate property.
