Washington May 25 The House passed legislation to permit unlimited expansion of the Army Air Corps under President Roosevelt’s defense program and sent it to the Senate. The measure follows a Senate Naval Committee cap of 10,000 planes for the Navy’s air corps and authorizes future expansion of air force and shore aviation bases.
The White House announced President Roosevelt intends to name a National Defense Emergency Coordination group. The panel would include private individuals and government officials from industry agriculture transportation communications labor and consumers, with selections yet to be made.
