Juneau Fisherman Karl Kavander Dies By Own Hand
Karl Kavander a T year old Juneau fisherman was found dead in a woodshed behind his Glacier Highway home. Neighbors heard a gunshot about 10 30 last night and Kavander reportedly used a Springfield rifle with a cord tied to the trigger. He had battled ill health for years and left statements to friends about ending his life when suffering became unbearable. The body was moved to the Charles W Carter Mortuary and a coroner s inquest is set for 2 p m Monday.
