A new Agricultural Experiment Farm station near Petersburg, nine miles south overlooking Wrangell Narrows, is funded by a $20,000 appropriation. Dr. Jules B. Loftus of Juneau will oversee the project, with CCC crews doing preliminary work and building soon after. The station will study fur bearing animal physiology, diseases, diet, and related fur farming research under University of Alaska approval.

Five halibut boats sold catch here today led by the Avena capt. Olaf Larsen with 13,000 pounds at 80 and 5.05 cents per pound to Sebastian-Stuart Fish Co. The Tern capt. Andrew Rosness moved 7,000 pounds to Martyn Fish at 6.80 and 5 cents. Alaska Coast Fisheries bought the remaining three catches at 6.80 and 5 cents per pound. Boats 30-C-957, 30-0-477, and 31-B-195 reported 800, 340, and 5,200 pounds. Salmon landings included 15,000 pounds to Sebastian Stuart by Fern capt.
