Dredging at Wrangell Narrows Opens Channel For Large Ships
The Wrangell narrows dredging project in southeast Alaska will create a 300 foot wide, 24 foot deep ship channel for the largest vessels in territorial waters at mean lower low water. Puget Sound Bridge and Dredging Company holds the contract with $1,063,600 budget. An anchor basin near mile 14, 500 yards long and 200 yards wide will follow. Navy Lieut Pleads Guilty After Six Month Binge
Navy Lt Bascomb Boaz pleaded guilty to embezzling 19000 from his ship Navasota and spending the funds on a six month binge. Federal Judge Ben Harrison set a date for sentencing.
