Alexander Not Confirmed for Alaska District Court

Ambitious plan announced by Comr Bell for salmon industry

United States Commissioner of Fisheries Frank T. Bell outlined a four fold plan to aid salmon canning workers improve the industry, stabilize output to demand and conserve the fishery. He arrived on the Brant and planned to sail to Seward later, delaying hearings until his return by August 1. He defended last winter regulations but said corrections would be made if injustices arose.

Stream Guards Hired Here as Usual in Alaska

Stream guards will be employed during the current season by the United States Bureau of Fisheries Alaska Agent Lemuel Wingard announced. He arrived from Petersburg and will base in this city with plans to station in Bristol Bay yearly. Funds are sharply reduced and guards will be hired locally.
