Air Chief Marshal Harris stated in London that up to 10,000 Allied bombers could participate in strikes over Germany and possibly fly from America with heavy loads. He warned that current raids are warmups for harsher punishment aimed at Japan, claiming bombing will win wars once tried.
Mrs Everett Smith, wife of the United States Employment Service office manager, will depart tonight for Skagway to meet and bring back her daughter Gail Smith who had been visiting grandmother Mrs Gene Smith. Joe Green, Tax Collector with the Territorial Treasurer, plans a business trip to Skagway with Mrs Green accompanying him.

Coast Guard reports three bodies recovered from wreckage of one of two Navy training blimps lost during an unexplained experimental mission off New Jersey. One survivor known, nine of 13 aboard still missing, Ensign Howard Fahey rescued. Blimps departed from Lakehurst Naval Air Station.
Ensign G. H. Gay, a 25 year old torpedo plane pilot, was shot down during the Midway battle. He salvaged a seat cushion and boat bag, hid under a seat cushion to escape Jap fighters, and rode out over ten hours afloat in a rubber boat after his plane wrecked. He watched American attacks and heard bombs strike Japanese carriers as night fell. He was rescued the following day with a leg wound.
The British Admiralty reports the submarine Turbulent has sunk one Italian destroyer, three medium supply ships, and a small merchant vessel in Central Mediterranean waters. The message appears amid war time defense bond appeals.
Associated Press reports that Chinese armies under Chiang Kai Shek reversed a Japanese victory drive on the China front. The East Coast shows slight swing to Chinese favor while Burma Road reinforcements continue. Beijing says Chinese troops wiped out the invasion force at Chu Sie n and regained Chekiang city, a strategic rail hub and ally target.
United States Ambassador Carlton Hayes presented credentials to General Francisco Franco in the royal palace throne room Madrid. Hayes said respecting sovereignty of other nations is a basic U S policy amid a parade by cavalry troops and a military band playing The Star Spangled Banner.

Haas by 265 in Labor Commissioner race. multiple Democratic and Republican candidates listed with vote totals. Revilla precinct not yet heard. officials state results cannot be changed by its vote.
Complete official returns from the Third Division Primary show Michael Haas leading Walter Sharpe by over 100 votes for Labor Commissioner. Dimond, Olson, Brownell, Drager, McCutcheon and Reber appear in other races with various counts. Republicans For the House slate remains uncontested.
