Alexander Nominated for U S District Judge in Alaska

President Roosevelt submitted three Alaska nominations late yesterday. George F. Alexander of Oregon was named United States District Judge for Juneau in the Fourth Division, with Joseph A. McDonald and Ralph J. Rivers slated for federal posts in Fairbanks. Alexander is a Portland attorney and former U S Marshal under Wilson.

Dimond seeks amendment to public works bill for Alaska

Washington May 29 Special Correspondence Delegate Dimond pushes for Senate Finance Committee to insert an amendment to the public works bill to ensure Alaska is not disadvantaged. He wants including the District of Columbia Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico under the same terms as Alaska. Captain Hinckley and party harvest bears on Alaska cruise

Captain H D Hinckley of the Seattle Coast Guard and guests William Piggott George Hubbard and James Phelan fished and hunted near Chichagof Baranof and Admiralty Islands aboard the Haida. Phelan shot a large female brownie at Eliza Harbor. The Haida sailed south toward Seattle with patrols and will base at Ketchikan after completing the Bering Sea voyage.
