Hundreds of tons of supplies amass at Whitehorse for shipment to this city and Interior regions. Lake LeHarge is expected to open by Monday and the first Dawson to Whitehorse steamer will depart tomorrow with passengers and gold. The Whitehorse to Fairbanks steamer likely leaves June 9 or 10, with officials not forecasting an earlier sailing due to ice clearance delays.
In Peking today soldiers guarding the Cabinet grounds attacked several hundred student teachers and others seeking an interview with the Premier. The educators, including the director of the National Medical School, were injured. The group marched to demand pay three months in arrears.

The plan requires moving the Oregon Short Line railroad and Idaho Power Plant, with initial solid rock drilling begun.

In Kansas City on June 4 the jury acquitted Densel Chester after a 20 minute deliberation in the murder case of Florence Barton, a wealthy society girl. Chester was captured after a sensational chase and later escaped from guards on a train at Broken Bow Nebraska before being recaptured.
Reports say heavy rains began overnight and are expected to check fires in the Zuni mountains and Aparane range. By late yesterday two new blazes were added to the five active fires. Dry conditions had worsened the danger, and the timely rain averted greater losses.
