Denver reports the Colorado State AFL has expelled D. C. Morrell, vice president and executive board member, alleged to have promoted wobblies propaganda within AFL affiliated trades in the state. The action follows accusations of active involvement with the Red Labor movement.
Walter Hampden Miss Blanche Yurka and J Harry Irvine lead The Wayfarer in a production praised for its spectacle and costume by critics. About three thousand in chorus and cast, the show is said to rival Oberammergau in magnificence of pageantry.
Subpoenas served on Ludwig Martens the so called Ambassador in America of the Russian Soviet and his secretary Nourteva to appear before a Senate Committee investigating alleged communist propaganda in America. The secretary claimed communists planks were formed by agents of the Department of Justice and said they were involved in forwarding bomb plots.

The Anyox under charter to the Engineering Commission will sail from Seattle toward month end with the barge Bardo to Balboa. They will load 1600 flat cars and four locomotives for use on the government railroad out of Anchorage in Alaska.
Cairo reports that members of the Nationalist party reaffirm their determination to achieve full independence for Egypt in response to Viscount Milner the British Secretary for the colonies. Milner’s commission aims to reconcile Egyptian aspirations with British interests and invites Egyptian opinion.
In Dallas on January 10 the Texas Democrats endorsed President Wilson and Gov Hobby and supported Senators Culberson and Sheppard in wartime policy. For the first time women served as members of the Democratic Executive Committee.
The pottees seek 14 members of a national syndicate of bank swindlers who allegedly divided over 2 million dollars with policemen politicians attorneys and bank officials. Bank robberies include Omaha 110000 and Illinois banks over 200000. Women were used to beguile employees and learn money and shipment secrets. Robbers took 20 percent with prearranged legal protection.
Cracksmen dynamited the Wallingford District Fuel and Feed Company safe wrecking the office and escaping last night with $300. Police praised as an audacious burglary with minimal clues and no injuries reported.
Ottawa reports the Federal Board for Vocational Education urges disabled soldiers to apply for vocational training before February 1, 1920. After that date only discharged hospital patients may apply, with a three month window after discharge to file. Over 21,000 men are in training and 25,000 more applications are expected before the deadline.
Ford E. Fisher, owner and editor of The Woman's Press, announces the weekly paper will become a morning daily named the Chicago Daily Press. The first issue is scheduled for March 1 in Chicago.

Victor Berger, Wisconsin Socialist elected to Congress, has again been denied his seat in the House. The dispute centers on his eligibility and the outcome marks another interruption of his term in Congress.
Milwaukee reports the House voted 328 to 0 to oust Victor Berger from his seat on a Ballinger chaired Elections Committee resolution. Berger was denied a personal hearing as Representative Mann of Illinois urged seating him since he was elected twice. Berger called the vote one of the worst attacks on representative government.
In Milwaukee Michigan on January 10, the Socialists nominated Berger for Congress within thirty minutes of learning he was denied his seat and will urge the Governor to call a special election.
El Paso dispatch reports the American Legion post charges Jack Dempsey hid from the draft board during the war. The same post made Georges Carpentier a life member to honor his war service, and funds were set aside to back Carpentier in the scheduled bout with Dempsey.
The blizzard on New Year’s Day left thousands dead in Estonia. Reports say 300 refugees were found dead in a forest by Red Cross workers. Many babies perished in the arms of their mothers as fugitives from the collapsed Yudenitch army died in the snow.
The State Department declares that American troops will not leave Siberia until all Czech Slovaks are repatriated. The American Railway Commission has departed, and officials say several months will be needed to bring back all Slovaks.

The World Peace Treaty at Versailles became effective at 4 15 this afternoon with exchanges of ratifications among France England Italy Japan Belgium Bolivia Brazil Guatemala Panama Peru Poland Siam Czecho Slovakia and Uruguay All Allied nations have ratified except China and the United States German delegates signed the protocol securing armistice terms Premier Clemenceau avoided handshakes with the German delegates and no American was present The League of Nations is set to go into being January 16.
It was learned finally that the inaudible words which Premier Clemenceau uttered to the German delegates was a promise that German prisoners would be repatriated, beginning tonight. Later Clemenceau shook hands with the German delegates.
Advices from Moscow relay Bolsheviki sources claiming capture of remnants of the first, second, and third armies in Eastern Siberia near Krancyarak. The Bolsheviki say about 60,000 prisoners were taken.
London reports General Kolchak former head of the Omsk government has been arrested by General Pepeliayev and ordered to surrender army control equipment and supplies. The move ties to postwar Russian power struggles and international intervention.
