Thirteen persons were rescued from the Alaska Peninsula after a wrecked cannery tender Spencer broke up on rocks near Kodiak Island. Fairbanks Alaska December 27. The body of a paratrooper from the three man unit sent to aid survivors of a B 29 crash was recovered.
