Walker Killed In Jeep Truck Collision On Korean Front

Lt. Gen. Walton H. Walker, commander of the U.S. Eighth Army, was killed in a head-on jeep collision near Seoul as U.S. forces brace for a new Chinese Red attack. Gen. Ridgeway named to succeed him, with a noted WWII airborne service record. Captain Sam Sims Walker, 25, met officials upon arrival.

Plane crash wreckage found near Penticton, B C

A Canadian Pacific Airlines DC-3 disappeared with 18 aboard after leaving Vancouver for Calgary and was located high on Mt Okanagan near Penticton. Five persons were sighted around the wreckage as RCAF and RCMP rushed a ground party to the snowy, wooded scene. The plane carried 15 passengers and 3 crew headed to British Columbia centers and Alberta for Christmas.
