Ickes Reports Fisheries Inquiry Flagging Irregularities

Wind Rush Arrives After Fire Aboard Held

Health exam rules for restaurant staff drafted in territory

Territorial Commissioner Dr W W Council is drafting regulations to enforce health examinations for all restaurant workers under a 1937 act. Cooper Building Opens in Juneau With Offices and Apartments

James Cooper, noted CPA, watches work finish on Juneau's new Cooper Building at Fourth and Main. The two story structure houses three apartments and three office spaces. Architect Harold Foss has moved in, and Cooper will open his accounting offices next Tuesday. The building also hosts Sigrid's Beauty Parlor and plans a grand opening later.

Forester Returns After Rough Trip

The Forest Service launch Forester returned to port Thursday night after a routine administrative voyage in the Admiralty Division with Assistant Ranger John Brillhart and Captain Ottar Johnson. The vessel visited Hoonah Angoon Elfin Cove Tenakee Lisianski and Sitka during the rough trip.

Dead Horse Blocks Highway In Maine Wreck Cascade

In Vassalboro Maine on December 23 a farmer Leo Gilberts horse stepped onto a highway triggering a chain of crashes. An unidentified car struck the horse killing it. A second car hit the carcass causing slight damage. A third car did likewise but suffered no damage. A truck halted nearby and lit the carcass. A luxury car then rammed the truck nearly ruining itself.
