Delegate Anthony J. Dimond secured Post Office Department approval for Albert Wile as Juneau postmaster. Wile, a longtime Alaskan veteran, previously served in Tolitarod and Ketchikan, and has worked in merchandise and brokerage since leaving the post in 1921. He will succeed Mrs. J. C. Spickett whose term ended December 8.

SOS picked up in Juneau as coast guard aids freighter
The Coast Guard Cutter Tallapoosa departed Juneau to assist the British freighter Benlawers in a heavy storm. The SOS, relayed by Sanyo Maru, placed the ship about 400 miles southeast of Dutch Harbor with damaged lifeboats and superstructure.
