Relief aid sought for Alaska and possessions
Washington December 19 A presidential request for 15 million dollars for relief and civilian defense in Alaska the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico was approved by the House Appropriations Subcommittee It is estimated that 12 5 million will go to Puerto Rico for purchase storage and distribution of food drugs hospital supplies and other materials for use in case of war operations the President said the articles would be available for sale mainly to merchants for replenishing stocks.
