Guilty verdicts in federal court top Saturday docket
Arthur Paul was found guilty of assault with a dangerous weapon after a four hour jury deliberation. A sealed verdict was read this morning as Moses Phillips was convicted of manslaughter for killing John Lindoff at Hoonah on August 12 and sentenced to twelve years at McNeil Island by Judge George F. Alexander. Chester Willis received a three year suspended term for assault with a dangerous weapon and Earl Shortridge a two year suspended term for docket picking. The court also handled usual Saturday motions.
