PETROGRAD, Dec 13 The Bolshevik government labeled the constitutional Democrats rebels and those in the counter revolution enemies of the people. The decree asserts a civil war is underway.

An official telegram from Berlin reports that no German peace conditions have been submitted to the Russian delegates in Amsterdam. The talks have focused only on armistice terms already in effect.

A December 6 distress call from the government radio station at Sitka relayed urgent aid needs aboard a sinking vessel. The message read We are sinking fast Send help quick. We’re sinking.
The lower jaw of a mammoth, one of the few relics of the extinct giant, was brought to San Francisco from Point Barrow Alaska on the power schooner Herman. Native diggers uncovered it from snow while the vessel lay in harbor. The jaw’s owner roamed Alaska thousands of years ago and the relic will go to an eastern museum. A live polar bear was captured nearby and shipped south.
