Bridges Case Prosecution Aims To End Gov Case By January
After four weeks of the Harry Bridges perjury trial in San Francisco prosecutors say they are about one-third through their portion of the case. Chief Prosecutor F Joseph Donohue hopes to wind up the government case by mid January. The defense led by Vincent Hallinan and James Mackowale attacks testimony as credit challenges and enmity in court. Hallinan, under six month contempt sentence, vows to trap lying witnesses and an appeal is in progress. A new "punch witness" is promised early next week.
