Centry Colo December 1 Tomorrow federal troops policing the Trinkind coal field will be withdrawn after Mine Workers officials and mine operators met and agreed to bury the hatchet under Wilson’s peace plan. The workers voted unanimously and President John P. White endorsed the action.
The Juneau band teva hosts a large dance at the Juneau rink tomorrow night with a ten piece orchestra. Preparations are complete and a strong turnout is expected. Out of town guests will be accommodated by a dedicated committee under Duliy Gray. Admission is 25 cents for spectators and 1 for ladies, with special arrangements for complimentary attendance.
Officers to lead the Mining and Engineering Society of Alaska were elected at a meeting in the surveyor general's office last night. President Charles E. Davison, Vice President H. T. Tripp, Secretary H. P. Crovether, Executive Committee B. L. Thane, P. Bradley, DD Muir, R. G Wigland, CE Davidson and B. B. Nieding. The society begins with over twenty members.
KETCHIKAN Dec 2 The grand jury has returned twelve indictments this morning. Indicted include Hane Hi Rutzebsch for burglary who pleaded guilty and received fifteen months, Joy Leroix for forgery with 15 months, Norman G Ogilvia and Owen Sheena for whinky peddling and similar offenses with two and a half and three months respectively, plus George Nil C M Coulter Frank Estrad Sunn Kim S Rodriquez and M Noguchi for various offenses with several not yet sentenced.
Ainsworth of the firm Ainsworth and Dunn salmon canners died early today after an operation for acute indigestion.
Seattle dispatch notes the Mariposs sails for Alaska tonight with a list of passengers including J. Be Grom Bradford R McDonald Mrs Rushworth Miss Hale Burns Cambent Paul Burnseth Dr L Irwin Otto Koehler Antone Nelson and two children among others. Eight second class passengers also aboard. H B Worthen and Mrs Worthen plan holidays in the States and will board the Alameda for Seattle.
Lambert Ho aged 22 a structural area worker fell about thirty feet from the east end of the Alona Gastineau crushing mill at Thane this morning. He died fifteen minutes later in Dr L C Sloane s automobile en route to hospital. Internal injuries reported. He came from Welch West Virginia where his mother resides. Lambert worked for the Alaska Gastineau Mining company. Funeral plans depend on word from West Virginia.
Washington reports United States soldiers ordered to Naco Arizona to reinforce with three batteries of light artillery and the Ninth Cavalry. General Tasker Bliss announces additional batteries will move to Naco to deter further Mexican gunfire while concentrate near the border to respond to any emergency.
