In Juneau a group of fishermen voiced frustration that Seattle buyers pay only half the value of their halibut, arguing price manipulation and spoilage claims. They urged the town to back a cold storage plant to protect their labor and secure an equitable return, with merchants calling the issue a burning shame. The Empire was urged to continue efforts to involve Juneau residents.
Albanian politicians set up a provisional government with Ismail Kemal Bey as president. The Albanian flag is raised and Albania is declared neutral. Durazzo and Elasogona are urged not to oppose the allies, amid tensions with Greece and the wider peace talks.

The committee guiding unity for all Presbyterian churches in the United States reports agreement on a union basis. If ratified, the united churches will be named the Presbyterian Church of America. A grand soiree marks the announcement in Atlanta.
John Peter Davies has confessed that he murdered William Atchison at Castle Rock in 1876. Davies, a former cattleman, admitted the crime amid reporting on the case from the era.
In Vallejo California on December 7 a naval inquiry is planned into a Vicksburg cruiser dinner that allegedly descended into a drunken orgy. New York dispatch reports that William G. McAdoo, Democratic National Committee vice chair, is slated for Secretary of the Treasury in President Wilson's cabinet. An "original Wilson man" from the Baltimore convention, McAdoo helped build the Hudson river tunnels and has a strong financial and executive record. the New York Democratic organization supports him. It is believed the West may receive the Interior post, though a name had not emerged.
CHICAGO December 7 It is stated here that if James Hamilton Lewis fails to win the United States Senate seat from Illinois when the legislature meets next month he may be appointed attorney-general in President Wilsons cabinet Lewis was endorsed for Senator in the Democratic primaries last fall but the legislature may not elect a Senator as two seats are up Senator Culloms term expires March 4 Col Lewis served one term as Chicago corporation counsel and is regarded as an able lawyer
