Coast Guard crews found the ill fated Ish ang boat Rustler ashore at Ritter Point after an overnight search in Alaska. Capt Sund Charged With Manslaughter in Alaska Shooting
Capt Abner Sund of Seattle a retired tugboat operator was charged with manslaughter for the shooting of Maurice Smith 18 of Seattle. Bond set at 3000 he claimed he shot thinking a deer was in the brush during a fishing trip near Eagle River. Sund was aboard the 60 foot Apakuk in Juneau port August 20 with his wife and two others. Sund, from Hood Canal area, is a long time Puget Sound tug operator.
