Kurt Frederick Ludwig a 38 year old German national accused by a New York grand jury of violating the Espionage Act is held in Spokane County Jail on 50000 bond awaiting a September preliminary hearing. Plucked from a westbound bus in Cle Elum he was brought to Spokane after arraignment where he pleaded not guilty to fleeing justice. The suspect, described as a longtime resident of Germany, reportedly returned to the United States last year and faces charges involving possession of Army information and a network of radio towers.
