Man builds 500 foot rail line the Mandeville Northern
Sidney J. Thibodaux, 65, longtime Gulf Mobile and Northern station agent at Mandeville, built what he calls the shortest standard gauge railroad in the world. The 500 foot line cost 1200 dollars and uses 60 pound rails, standard ties, switches, lamps, semaphores, and telegraph. Rolling stock includes a gasoline powered handcar and a small flatcar. Weekday service serves Thibodaux and his six grandchildren, with a regular schedule on Saturdays and Sundays.

Marshal Brings Two Prisoners To Federal Jail
