Two Flags Tribute On Mount Juneau And Rogers Memorial
Two new American flags were raised at the summit of Mount Juneau in tribute to Will Rogers and Wiley Fost. The flags were carried to the peak yesterday by Frank Harris, Mrs. Sibley, Fred Sullivan, and Bill Erickson. As a funeral ship passed miles away to the south the flags waved clearly in the wind.

Wrangell district closes August 22. Icy Strait closed earlier.

PAA planes rush Point Barrow crash images to AP
Late Sunday AP papers across the nation published photographs from the Point Barrow plane crash. A chartered Pan American plane, piloted by Alex Holden with Lloyd Jerman as mechanic, flew from Fairbanks carrying films and stills to Seattle where they were distributed to papers on the Pacific Coast and Chicago. The crash occurred around 30 minutes after takeoff.
