British Chancellor Phillip Snowden pressed for adjournment after opposing reductions in British reparations contributions, and no date was set for evacuation amid ongoing military transport considerations.
Dr Otto Eckener postponed the Graf Zeppelin’s departure after a company meeting. A one day delay could allow choosing the great circle route for the second leg of its around the world flight with Tokyo as the first stop. Russia reportedly backs the voyage to ensure success.

Phoenix Aug 13 An intensive search is under way for an automobile used by Paul Reynolds Special Agent of the Department of Justice whose body was found yesterday floating in an irrigation canal after five days missing. A bullet wound in the heart led friends to believe Reynolds was murdered though the case he was working on was not considered dangerous. Reynolds had recently helped apprehend narcotic smugglers and told men he was going for a ride and a short swim and would return within a few hours.
A Congressional party that has toured Alaska since late July will arrive in Seward from the north today and sail tonight for Seattle direct. Commissioner Charles Hi Flory of the Department of Agriculture relayed the telegram. he will accompany the party to Seattle and back home later this month.
Aerial photos by the Alaska Naval Expedition reveal a previously uncharted lake in the Tongass National Forest near Taku Inlet. The site, 2,500 to 3,000 feet above sea level, could yield 20,000 to 25,000 horsepower and be crucial for a local pulp and paper plant. The discovery, made by Commander A W Radford and inspected by B F Heintzleman and R A Sargent, strengthens prospects for hydroelectric development along the Juneau route. The lake lies about 17 miles from Juneau and is not on official maps.
