PortlandAug 2-7 a crew of 88 deputy sheriffs searched Vanport waterlogged blocks for 13 missing from the Memorial Day flood. Sheriff Pratt said he aims to ensure no bodies remain before the Housing Authority razes the area Aug 16. Two cars trapped in a slough beside the wrecked Vanport shopping center were lifted out yesterday as officials fear more bodies may be inside. Thirteen victims have been recovered since the disaster of more than two months ago.

Policeman's Wife Killed Aiding Bar Fight in Portland
In Portland a policeman's wife, June Buzzell, 22, mother of a 10 month old, was fatally shot while helping her husband quell a tavern brawl involving four men. Detective Sgt.
