The House moved the Grier Literacy Test bill to third reading and adopted an amendment freeing voters from educational requirements. The measure, once delayed, was restored to the daily file after a Saturday vote and set for a 2 p.m. hearing, with Murray’s illness noted.
President F. W. Bradley reports in the Tenth Annual Report that in 1924 the average mining and milling capacity rose from 7 430 to 9 250 tons daily and targets 14 000 tons per day by 1925. Two Little Rock attorneys Wallace Davis and Tom Poe face United States District Court charges of secreting 101000 dollars of Herbert Holliday's share from the 1924 Rondout mail train robbery. Davis, former State Attorney General, and Poe partner with J C McKinney, Holliday's cellmate, as co-defendants in a case linked to the released loot.
