From Peking To Cornell From Peking To Cornell
Julia Liu left Peking on July 29 to study at Cornell as the sole Chinese student among the freshmen. She finds attention but enjoys the friendly campus, learning English and taking music, home economics, and dance while auditing English. Muriel Hibbard, another freshman from Taian, China, also speaks Chinese. Julia maintains limited letters due to infrequent mail boats and strict censorship, and she misses her family more than Chinese customs.
