Eight new staff join the administration for the next year. Abbie Probasco, formerly principal of Jennings Seminary in Aurora Illinois, will assist Dr H J Burgstahler as assistant to the president. O R Bontrager will teach in education with ele mentary supervision. Jane Lewis Smith from San Bernardino joins speech. Anne Shelly of Minneapolis will supervise commercial training. Bessi Crone of Hampton becomes head resident of Guild Hall dormitory. Arthur T Meyer Cedar Rapids joins Cornell Conservatory as part time cello instructor. Burton OConnor Mount Vernon coach to aid sports program.

Orchestra Tryouts Announced for Conservatory Players

Three New Englanders Solve Their Transportation Problem In Model T
Frank Allison Arthur Ackstin and Adolph Sharkey juniors and freshmen from Brockton Massachusetts drove a 1922 Model T 1800 miles from Brockton to Mount Vernon then Cedar Rapids over five days. They faced one flat tire one radiator leak four broken springs and frequent brake problems while promoting Cornell bound publicity.

New Tennis Plan Sets Club Unified Rules at College
Dorothy Rogers announces a new college tennis plan requiring all players to join the tennis club with signups at the bulletin boards by the courts. Three divisions determine fees: seniors four dollars, college students free for joining the second group, and juniors one dollar for high and public school students. Courts resurfaced under the direction of Prof. Elmer E Moots with help from Mount Vernon volunteers.

Fresh Enrollments Show Increase Across Class Levels
Early Tuesday afternoon incomplete statistics indicate a sharp rise in fall enrollment. 357 total students are on campus versus 304 last year after two days, with 173 freshmen, 85 sophomores, 56 juniors, and 36 seniors registered so far, plus transfers and special students higher than last year.
Miller Publishes Cornell Songs Book
Professor Horace Alden Miller leads a new Cornell songs collection from Otto Zimmerman and Sons. The purple and white volume, to be pressed soon, reissues older tunes with modern additions and re-harmonized Cornell chimes on the cover. It marks the first Cornell songbook since 1908.
