LINK Meeting Sets Week of Tutoring Trips to Cedar Rapids

The first LINK trips to the Cedar Rapids Jane Boyd Community Center will run Monday and Wednesday evenings this week. About ninety Cornellians attended the introductory meeting where Keith Mooreland urged weekly commitment. Trips include orientation to the center and the Elizabeth Bender Swimming Pool as the educational aids center and library near the center opens by October first.

The 1968 Grinnell Student Council drops class officers from the lineup in favor of dorm based representation. Doug Peterson says this reflects better class voice. Dorm reps will lead committees and push reforms including dorm living conditions and a revised drinking policy for adults.

Three Cornellians Win National Methodist Scholarships

Three Cornell students received 1968-69 National Methodist Scholarships from The Methodist Church Board of Education. Recipients are Darlene Spargrove of Strawberry Point Iowa freshman Patricia Tenney of Evansville Indiana sophomore and Roderick Van Scoy of Davenport Iowa freshman. Awards cover tuition and fees up to $500 based on academic achievement leadership church involvement character and need. About 500 such awards are given annually nationwide by the Methodist Board of Education.

RLC States Projects Aid Local Rest Homes
