After a 41 0 loss to Cornell last Saturday the Bulldogs regrouped at Ash Park to correct errors. The team showed potential power in flashes though consistency remains a challenge as they prepare for Dubuque and refine passing combinations under the coach's guidance.

Cornell Chemists' Club Forms At Cornell

Sixty five new chemistry students meet with Sherman Shaffer to form The Cornell Chemists' Club. Don Corlett Homer Fries Chick Knight and Mrs Pfaendler prepare constitution for vote next Tuesday. Membership expected from 100 to 200 of 300 chemistry students with open enrollment for undergraduates alumni and faculty.

Special Missions Session at Y W Meeting

Bolivia and Syria wire representatives speak to YW girls on Foreign Missions. Eva Gilbert leads the YW group and has arranged for Mr Navia of Bolivia and Mr Asfar of Syria to share experiences from their countries. Both are students at Cornell this year.

English Club Plans Homecoming Plays Under Tull

The English club presents a Homecoming program directed by Clyde Tull. Sidney Grundy's In Honor Bound opens with Lady Carlyon played by Dorothy Bateman and Sir George Carlyon by Clyde Tull. A second sketch Little Guttersnipe stars Jewell Bothwell Tull with Tull as mission worker. Third piece Room 83 is a fast farce with Ona Kating Mildred Court Walter Averill and Karl Kettering in the cast. Proceeds benefit the Cornell Bleachers Fund.

Colleges to Aid Foreign Students Fund Raised

Central colleges organize a 500000 dollar fund to aid European students in need. Representatives in Chicago and a conference on October 22 assign Y M C A and Y W C A leaders to run the headquarters. All U S schools will contribute to the Student Friendship Fund with regional HQs in New York Chicago San Francisco and Atlanta.

Cornell faced Iowa on the Iowa City course losing 17 to 35. Captain Smith led Cornell with a fourth place amid hard four mile conditions. Ristine of Iowa won in 21 minutes 30 seconds. Motion pictures were captured for Iowa coaching use.

Devereux Players Booked For Nov 5 Performance

Professor Tull announces the English club has booked the Devereux players for a Friday performance in the Cornell auditorium on November 25. This marks the fourth Cornell appearance, with past shows including The Great Galeoto A School for Scandal The Romancers Ghosts. The company will tour with nearly the same cast and anticipates strong reception after prior successes.

Himstead to Speak at Des Moines Teachers Convention

Professor Ralph E. Himstead has agreed to address the teachers convention in Des Moines on November 3 to 5 with the topic A Standard Course in Speech Fundamentals. Cornell faculty will attend and Dr. O H Smith will speak to the science section. Mrs Clark of Farley visited her daughter Vera last weekend.

The Home Service Associates held a regular meeting Sunday afternoon in an informal discussion following an earlier informational program on the work of the Charity Organization Society. Discussion centered on linking organized social service with church activity. The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday evening.

At a meeting of all literary society presidents the yearly inter-society debate plan was outlined. The men will debate the closed shop question on November 26 with matches Adelphians vs Parmenians and others. Women’s draws set for December with several pairings. dates to be announced.

Purple Notice Seeks Lost Proofs for Yearbook

S A Curtis the Royal Purple photographer asks all students who had pictures taken and not returned proofs to do so immediately. Cooperation of the student body is needed to publish the yearbook on time.

Handbook Out for Home Coming and Debates at Iowa

Handbook for homecoming will include the football program and squad photos. The Daily Iowan notes women are eligible to participate in inter-collegiate debates for the first time, with trial rounds beginning October 25 at 7 pm in the liberal arts auditorium.

William F King Cornell College Leader Dies at 90

President emeritus William Fletcher King, who led Cornell College for forty five years, died after a long illness. Born in Zanesville Ohio in 1830 he shaped the college and wrote a reminiscences memoir reflecting a half century of its history.
