Girls Eye Tryouts for Class Hockey Teams This Fall
Intensive drills aim to place about 230 girls on elementary class hockey teams. Tryouts start next week with workouts on the field or gym bulletin board schedules. Upper class players will practice Tuesdays and Thursdays at four. The class champion tournament ends around Thanksgiving with eleven players chosen for the varsity squad.
Cornell Oratory Department Sees Record Enrollment
The Cornell Oratory Department reports its largest fall enrollment in years led by a group system enabling first year work with five to seven students per group. Northwestern also uses this plan. Five students will graduate from the oratory department this year with junior recitals by Kielmen Davis Hann Keener Plaehn Hartung among others. The voice culture class is notably large this year.

Cornell and Knox Tie in Hard Game
Dr Benson Baker, a missionary from India, guest at Cornell College this weekend. He will speak at the Methodist church tomorrow morning, address the Student Volunteer Band tomorrow afternoon, and be available for interviews on Monday. Baker has spent fifteen years in India, including seven as head of a boys school and eight directing the Meerut District in Northwest India, a population near three million. The district lies between the Ganges and Jumna rivers in the Mass Movement area. He is described as pleasant and well informed.

Over sixty people attended the first Republican Club rally at Adelphian hall. The gathering sang the Harding song and the roll was called. After the meeting several attendees joined the club, bringing membership to seventy. Clair Lahman spoke on Republican versus Democratic platforms and Alice Reeve reviewed the 66th Congress activities. Professor Slaght, late from a professors’ meeting, spoke on the political scene.
