In the G A R hall on Friday afternoon at four Miss Chai and Messrs Nieu Wong Guok and Chong welcomed guests to a second anniversary celebration of the Republic of China. The program opened with an address by Miss Chai stressing Independence Day meaning. Messrs Nieu and Chang sang a Chinese song. Listeners preferred Li Hung Chan's instrumental tuning to the orchestra's Strauss and Wagner rendition.
