Cornell defeats Iowa Wesleyan 31 to 0 in a muddy, drizzle filled game. Busenbark and Robinson spark a strong offense while Lott, Hughes, and Clinton gain strong yardage. Cornell dominates both lines and stops Wesleyan’s drives throughout the contest.

Bible study groups organize at Cornell led by Betts and Risser

The Y M C A Bible study committee has begun a campus canvass to form classes in Bible bands with Dr. Betts and Mr. Risser as leaders. Risser will lead a class at the Methodist church and both men aim to build unity with Sunday Schools and church programs. Continuous on last page.

Walter Lott Named Captain of Varsity Team

Y M and Y W held vespers and elected Walter Lott captain for the season. Walt has two years on the squad and a steady, conscientious effort as trainer. Last year injuries limited him to two games, but under his leadership the varsity eyes a successful season.

Rev Newton Delivers Ad dress at Union Service

Reverend Joseph Fort Newton of Cedar Rapids Liberal Christian church gave an address at the Y M C A and Y W C A union vesper service in the auditorium. He spoke on faith and vision using Scott’s Abbot and the bird of youth as a focus, emphasizing steadfast faith as the measure of true success, and noting the era’s lack of definite life purpose. A vocal solo by Miss Wilcox and a violin solo by Miss Allen followed.

Societies Set Mutual Recruiting Rules This Year

The Gladstones and Irvings adopt a new arrangement for selecting new members. Representatives meet and choose alternately, with neither society electing someone already chosen by the other. The plan aims to prevent an uneven split of pledges from last year. Pledges to be announced later.
