Be a 49er Homecoming Draws Record Cornell Alumni
An expected record alumni turnout for Cornell’s Be a 49er homecoming is led by Orville Rennie. The 59th Coe vs Cornell clash tops the weekend Oct 14 15 with queen and attendants chosen in Wednesday elections. The An Nu shop outfits the queen and attendants receive gifts. WMT broadcasts the event while KWCR airs the game. The Spirit production plays Oct 14 15 at 815 in the Little Theatre. College faculty and alumni mingle at a 9 am coffee hour and 4 45 pm mixer in Armstrong Hall. Barrett’s Iowa City band plays the Oct 15 830 homecoming dance and two campus cups honor best decorated buildings.

Open Gym and Sock Hop Begin Social Activities
The Social Committee opens weekend activities with an open gym tonight from 7 30 to 10 and a sock hop tomorrow night from 8 to 11 45 at the gym. Men’s and women’s locker rooms will be open, and dancing will feature a shoeless majority with sweaters skirts and sport clothes acceptable. The college combo will provide music and refreshments will be served.

Blithe Spirit Cast Nears Dress Rehearsal in Homecoming
Work on the Homecoming production of Blithe Spirit advances to dress rehearsals. A full dress rehearsal is planned Monday evening with performances Friday and Saturday October 14 and 15 at 8 15 p m. Dr Allan Knight Chalmers To Speak For Religious Week
Dr Allan Knight Chalmers of Boston University will be speaker for Religious Emphasis Week in February 1923. He is a professor of homiletics and pastoral theology at Boston University School of Theology and has been highly successful in similar engagements nationwide. The program includes his campus presence and several opportunities to evaluate religion in educated life. The committee urges broad participation and thoughtful consideration of religious life. Attempts will be made to invite Milton Mayer to the campus at another date.
