Trustees Approve Three New Dorms and Commons Plan

Cornell trustees endorsed construction of three new campus buildings for sixty four and elected a new vice president Dr William Reynolds of General Mills to the post Charles E Hedges was re elected secretary and Charles Cochran treasurer The commons building near Bowman hall will house dining and recreation with air conditioning and 100 study carrels The residence halls for men and women will connect to Pauley and Dows halls and Pfeiffer hall east of Pfeiffer They also noted progress on a maintenance building west of College Courts as part of the Decade of Growth campaign Dr Reynolds a Phi Beta Kappa chemist from Cornell earned a PhD from the University of Chicago before career at General Mills and prior teaching roles The Reynolds family resides in Wayzata Minnesota

Orchestra Concert Sunday Under Thayer's Baton

The College Chamber Orchestra directed by Robert Thayer performs Sunday November 24 at 3 p.m. in King Chapel. The varied program opens with Gluck Overture to Iphigenia in Aulis and includes PurcellSuite from the Fairy Queen, Delius Summer Night on the River, Copland John Henry, and Bartok Suite, following Serly transcription.
