Stock Leads Chorus at Saturday Concert With Zeisler

The Saturday concert featured Alfren s E major symphony performed virtuously by Stock and his ensemble. Fannie Bloomfield Zeisler dazzled with Rubinstein s D minor concerto and Liszt s Rakoczy March. Prolific conductor Shaw fell ill, Stock substituted, guiding the chorus in The Swan and the Skylark with strong solo work by Werrenrath Kingston Garrison Keyes.

Home Oratorical Contest Friday Evening at Cornell

The Home Oratorical contest takes place Friday June 2 with two prizes for oratory and readings. The Oratory winner will represent Cornell in 1917. Admission is free. Orations include The Crime of the Super State, Thinking America, and America’s Unjust Criticism among others.

Byerly Fans Nineteen In Pitching Duel With Coe

Dutch Byerly struck out nineteen Coe batters in a 5 to 4 win for Cornell as Et ter and Hughes contributed key hits. Dunlap misfired early but settled later, while Byerly and the Crimson and Gold defense kept the Gophers at bay on the wet field.
